Hello!

February is here with an extra day this year. Happy Leap Year! Hope you’re doing well. This month, our kids at Impact will be sharing the love by collecting new stuffed animals for our local police and firemen. Each classroom will have a collection bin where our kids can place their donated new stuffed animals. At the end of the month, we will deliver them to our local police station. They are so appreciative of our efforts each year.

The police and firemen place the stuffed animals in their vehicles. When they arrive at an accident or fire with kids involved, they often give the kids a stuffed animal to help them cope in the crisis. This may seem like a small gesture, but it’s one, we are told by many, that speaks volumes to the kids. Please be on the look-out for sales and talk with your kids about the importance of giving back to local kids in need.

Children’s 201 will be offered this month on Sunday, February 19th, during the 9:00am service. This class teaches the 6 spiritual H.A.B.I.T.S. If your child has attended Children’s 101, they are encouraged to attend our 201 class. They will learn the H.A.B.I.T.S., see practical examples and ideas on how to implement them, and choose 2 or 3 on which to focus.

This month's newsletter offers ideas for promoting positive body image. Harmful messages about physical standards now impact children at younger and younger ages. So, it's important to help kids view their bodies as God's creation and to teach them how to care for their bodies. This issue of The ParentLink tackles the topic of body image from a biblical perspective.

Highlights of this new issue include:
• Statistics about struggles with body image for both girls and boys
• Teachable moments to convey Christ-like perspectives about our bodies
• Two fun family activities that celebrate God's gift of life
• Information about the new movie Big Miracle and the new album from worship leader Kari Jobe

Enjoy the extra day this month and have some fun with your kids. Make homemade ice cream, create a family movie, do a puppet show, have a soccer tournament, plant some flowers, paint a room, or create a new tradition. Whatever it is, remember quality time with your kids comes out of the quantity of time you spend with them.

Enjoy this month’s newsletter HERE, and let me know if I can help you in any way.
